Meditations. What do they look like to you?

I’m finding that when I can’t sit, breathe, and let go, activity-based meditations have been incredibly effective and have helped me to release a lot of pent of tension even with my daughter helping me.

Flower crowns are something that are very easy to make (and the kids LOVE), but they are time consuming, which is perfect for an activity based meditation. Here are the steps in case you are interested.

1. Get floral tape & wire (I got mine from Amazon).

2. Engage your little one by letting them pick the flowers at the shop. Tip: Pick sturdier flowers like daisies. Also, baby’s breath are brilliant fillers.

3. Shape and cut the wire to the head that each crown is for.

4. Wrap the floral tape tightly around the wire crown to make it sturdier for securing flowers.

5. Cut the flower stems, leaving two-inch stems for each.

6. Secure each flower stem by wrapping the floral tape repeatedly in a firm, but gentle way, around the stem & wire, securing it.

7. Just repeat that until you’ve worked your way around & voilà, you are done!

There’s really no wrong way to arrange, but for little children, I’ve found that smaller flowers work better (roses are too heavy).

Happy crowning!
