feed your soul
We do our best, but we also live in the world as it is today, which means we don't always have time to cook and sometimes we just need to feed our kids what they will agree to eat.
Yet, every day that we strive to be more aware of the way that the food we are eating affects our minds, bodies, and spirits, the better we are.
Below are kind recipes and ideas for those days.
Moon's Power Smoothie
For the liquid lover
This is without a doubt the best way that I’ve found to get some greens into my little one (that she actually loves).
Not to mention, it is absolutely delicious - my husband and I have had pretty much every single morning for the past four years.
Blended into pretty much any smoothie, spinach adds no intense flavor, which makes it the perfect green addition.
If your little one is strange about anything green, you can always hide it with a lid or add various fruits to change the color.
Recipe:
2 cups spinach
16 ounces coconut water
8 ounces Almond or cashew milk
1 banana
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon flax or Hemp Seeds
(And any other superfoods on hand blend well)
Simply add all of the ingredients together, Blend, and enjoy!
Cashew Cream Cheezzze
for the cheese monsters
I don't know about you, but my kid loves cheese, like truly is in love with it. Even when she simply hears the word, she gets pretty excited, to say the least. After noticing her allergies on the uptick, we decided to limit her dairy to see if it would alleviate symptoms.
In came the alternatives - most of which she immediately discarded as gross. I personally have always loved cashew cream cheese when I've tasted it at restaurants, so I decided to give it a try.
