expand your mind

We believe in the power of the written word and in reading to aid our own growth along with our children.

Below is a list of books varying for both parents and children that have inspired us to open our minds, connect to our inner selves, and follow each of our own paths to love.

Meditation for Daily Stress

by Michel Pascal

We are beginning with this night stand necessity because every single chapter brings its own simple, profound, and easy to follow experience.  The author is down-to-earth and talks on such a relatable level that you'll feel like he is right there next to you, understanding your frustrations, and guiding you through them.  A must-read for anyone tired of not being able to meditate in the ways we think we are supposed to.

You can heal your life

by Louise Hay

This life changing book by queen of self-love hasn't aged at all since its inception in the 80's and, quite honestly, it's needed now more than ever.  Many people have an intensely emotional reaction reading or listening to this book for the first time, as most of us haven't spent much time contemplating the fact that we should love and accept ourselves as we are and how to go about doing that.  She lays it all out for us here and we will be grateful to her forever.

Siddhartha's Brain

by James Kingsland

A guide to understanding our brain from a scientific perspective, based heavily on research and proven studies, which spoke to us much more profoundly than ones based more so on ambiguous spirituality. It shows you how meditation will change your life, especially if you are someone who suffers from a mental health issue. This is an absolute must-read for anyone looking for more balance, inner peace, and a better sense of overall well-being.
