Who we are

The kindness tribe is a resource designed to aid in fostering parents and children to explore and learn the most valuable source of knowledge in each of their lives - their inner selves.  Our mission is for our little ones to learn to listen to and trust themselves, to eat well, to gain confidence, and to interact with the world and others around them in a peaceful and meaningful manner.

A kind mission

We know that to raise children with love and compassion, we must raise ourselves with love and compassion as well, every single day.  Mental health is a serious issue in today's society, for parents and children alike.

80%

of new mothers on average experience some form of 'baby blues' and 15% experience postpartum DEPRESSION

38%

of teenage girls and 26% of teenage boys suffer from anxiety disorders

(National Institute of Mental Health)

12.8%

of children age 12-17 have had one major depressive episode

(National Institute of Mental Health)

Let's beat the stats

The stats above show alarming numbers.  With up to 80% of mothers experiencing what has been deemed "baby blues," we see how much we find ourselves unprepared, and oftentimes, unsupported for the incredible internal changes that parenthood brings.  We ignore our own internal needs and focus on the children, but if it is not coming from a place of completeness, we oftentimes find ourselves unbalanced and unstable.

Additionally, with the rise of anxiety and depression in children, especially teenagers, we can see that their internal needs are not being met.  The rise of social media has a lot to play in this as the lines between self and social acceptance do not have space to separate and create boundaries.  To prepare our children and ourselves for these modern struggles, we must love and value ourselves enough to look within and connect to our inner selves.    How do we make this happen?

“How can we listen to our children, when so many of us barely listen to ourselves?

How can we feel their spirit and hear the beat of their heart if we can’t do this in our own life?”

I will treat myself kindly

It's that simple - to teach kindness from within to a new generation, we must teach it to ourselves first.

Everything starts from within and when you begin to connect, you will see the miracle that real self-love, not the kind that involves short-term fixes, and connection to each of our higher powers, creates within and around you.  Our children feed off of our energies and repeat so much of what we do.  You will see your child flourish with you and benefit from your practice.

We are looking to tackle mind, body, and spirit for parents and children alike on a continual basis.  So, let's get started.
